Ingredient Story and Benefits
Ecoment’s Organic Bosung Green Tea
Ecoment produces organic green tea water and extracts from organic green tea leaves harvested in July from Bosung. We have partnered with Bosung’s organic green tea farms, which use no pesticides or synthetic fertilizers, to source our tea leaves.
Bosung is Korea’s largest green tea production area, accounting for approximately 40% of the nation’s green tea output. The region is known for its lush green tea fields and fertile soil, providing an ideal environment for tea cultivation. Recognized by tea experts as the optimal growing location, Bosung’s green tea farming dates back to 1940.
Green tea is rich in catechins, a type of flavonoid and polyphenol responsible for the astringent taste of green tea. Catechins are known for their powerful antioxidant properties, surpassing those of vitamins C and E, and effectively neutralizing free radicals that can cause DNA damage.
Studies have shown that catechins offer numerous skin benefits, including:
UV Protection: Inhibits skin aging and damage caused by UV exposure.
Anti-Inflammatory: Reduces inflammation and helps soothe irritated skin.
Skin Barrier Support: Aids in the recovery of the skin barrier.
Hydration and Balance: Enhances moisture retention and balances oil and water levels in the skin.
Due to these benefits, green tea extracts are widely used in various skincare products to promote a clear complexion, strengthen the moisture barrier, and regulate the skin’s oil-water balance.
